Uncensored Installation Hall
Co-Curated by Urban Nation Museum
Featured Artist: Ann J. Lewis
…and counting (Syria) is a statistical installation reflecting upon the destruction of young lives in and from the Syrian conflict by multidisciplinary activist artist Ann J Lewis.
Lewis will hang 25 pairs of porcelain baby shoes from the ceiling of the building to represent the amount of children expected to lose their lives during the run of the Moniker Art Fair. Each pair will be uniquely painted to honor the individuality of each child and hung from white ribbons. The installation will be for sale, and a significant portion of the profits will go to support Hope Hospital, a children’s hospital near Aleppo. Murals flanking the exhibit in English and Arabic will subtly remind us that ‘we are one’.
