The Moniker Foundation is proud to announce its inaugural International Artist Residency Program to be held at prestigious locations in Tulum, Mexico, in partnership with Tulum Art Club and in support of LADLE, a

Non-profit dedicated to empowering Native Mayan and Mexican children.

This residency offers a unique opportunity for 4 artists, 2 international artists and 2 local Mexican artists to immerse themselves in the rich cultural landscape of the Yucatán Peninsula while developing their artistic practice.

Where inspiration meets cultural authenticity,

a creative residency into the Yucatán.

We are proud to be supporting Los Amigos de la Esquina, who's mission is to empower and improve the quality of life of children in Tulum. During the residency, artists will have the opportunity to work directly with LADLE and create a large scale public mural in the centre of Tulum.

OPEN TO

Artists that practice urban art, fine art and illustration and are comfortable painting in public spaces.

ACCOMODATION

All expenses paid in a beautiful beachfront hotel in Tulum, Mexico.

Creative & Cultural opportunities

RESIDENCY PROGRAM

DAY 1

Artist arrival, check-in, meet & greet and Introduction to residency and the program.

DAY 2

Cultural Immersion, discover Mayan Ruins, local cenotes and the Yucatan beaches

DAY 3

Creative workshops and visiting local artisans, professional guidance, and collaborative work.

DAY 4

Introduction to LADLE, meet the children, visit the school and begin creative planning.

DAY 5-6

Creative workshops with LADLE and local residents to prepare public art mural.

DAY 7 - 8

Painting and working directly in the centre of Tulum to produce a collaborative work.

DAY 9

Final touches to creative mural, photography and final evening celebration with all partners.

DAY 10

Artist Departure, check-out and ending review of residency and work created.

Application Fee ( $15 USD or £13 GBP)

A portion of your application fee (20%) directly supports LADLE's vital community work, while the remaining 80% contributes to residency operational costs. The Moniker Artist Residency is fully funded by the Moniker Foundation, a registered non-profit arts organization dedicated to advancing creative expression and cultural exchange.
