A Collection of Urban and New Contemporary art, commissioned and curated by the Moniker Foundation

Established in 2020 The Moniker Foundation was created to celebrate the world of Urban and New Contemporary art. The foundation works to build the reputation of Urban and New Contemporary art with the public and to support artists.

It does this through public displays of art, the commission of original artworks, sculpture and installations and the creation of educational programmes and links. The foundation further acts to document and preserve the origins and history of Urban and New Contemporary art to build understanding and appreciation.

• Build a collection that documents Urban and New Contemporary art

• Create a public showcase for the breadth of Urban and New Contemporary art

• Help to support and develop the artists, careers and creative practices

• Develop educational resources for artists, curators and art collectors

• Establish dialogue with our network of leading figures within Urban and New Contemporary art

• Document the growth and development of Urban, Street, Graffiti and New Contemporary art

• Create a platform for the Moniker Collection to be loved, admired and engaged with

Over the coming years, the Moniker Foundation will continue to build on a 10 year legacy of Moniker Art Fair to support and encourage the growth of the contemporary art market, being a leading supporter to the artists, galleries and curators that have helped develop the subculture.

MATT SMALL (UK)

Primarily a painter, London based Small has a strong, compelling style, often choosing discarded objects like car bonnets or old signs instead of canvas for his work. “The theme of my work is young, dispossessed people: individuals who feel undervalued, who don’t have a voice, who get looked over.

HERA (GERMANY)

Jasmin Siddiqui or simply Hera was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1981. At the age of eight, she started with her fine art education. After that, she enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, Visual Communication and Graphic Design.

CLEON PETERSON (USA)

Cleon Peterson’s bold, stylized paintings and prints depict a world of brute, authoritarian violence and caustic debauchery. The artist draws on fine-art influences as well as the aesthetics of Greek pottery, graphic design, and political propaganda posters.

MISS ME (CANADA)

MissMe has been busy wheatpasting, preaching, and taking no prisoners. Her explosive style draws you in, but it’s the amplification of marginalized voices in her bright, powerful works that gives you something to take away.

ROBYN WARD (UK)

Born in Ireland and growing up in Northern Ireland, Ward takes his personal experience of destruction, chaos, and governance commenting on the breakdown of society, relating it to both historical and modern-day global conflict. He uses mixed media on canvas and combines abstract and realist approaches.

KYLE BARNES (UK)

Northern Irish born Painter, Kyle Barnes is currently based in Southampton, England. Barnes has won the Towry prize at the National Open Art Competition and exhibited at the prestigious Pallant House Gallery in Chichester.

BUZ BLURR (USA)

Russell Butler (23 August 1943 – 26 January 2024), best known by the pseudonym buZ blurr, was an American artist and photographer primarily known for his contributions to the modern mail art network and for the boxcar art he produced under the monikers Gypsy Sphinx and Colossus of Roads.

BARRY REIGATE (UK)

Barry Reigate’s sculptures and paintings enshrine the most basic instincts of desire and horror. Reflective of the aggression and violence of working class stereotype, Reigate adopts a brash, ‘no-apologies’ attitude towards the levelling of cultural hierarchy.

DEMSKY (SPAIN)

Demsky started his creative journey getting immersed in the graffiti boom in the early 90s. Since then he has been travelling and spraying throughout more than 50 countries and still feels obsessed with twisting the morphology of his name in multiple, unconventional shapes.

KAILI SMITH (AUS)

Kaili Smith was born in the Netherlands (1995) and raised in Australia. Now working between Amsterdam and New York for the past 8 years. Kaili’s current work examines inner-city youth culture, offering alternative perspectives through paintings and film.

2ALAS (USA)

Andrew Antonaccio has become a strong force for urban art in Miami in recent years, is mainly known for his black and white linear portraits and colored geometric abstractions, both of which are a frequent element of his 2Alas creative output. 2Alas’s main focus is creating work that focuses on the juxtaposition of conventional aesthetics and the digital medium.

DUSTIN EMORY (USA)

Dustin Emory is the newest edition to the Moniker Collection and one of Moniker's spotlight artists. Dustin is a 24year old painter from Atlanta, Georgia. His works are highly engaging and look to offer a spotlight on todays most vulnerable communities.

KEVIN PETERSON (USA)

Houston-based artist Kevin Peterson creates hyper-realistic paintings that nevertheless seem dream-like, indeed just one of the many juxtapositions that his work grapples with such as bondage versus freedom, support versus restraint and resignation versus persistence.

FELIPE PANTONE (SPAIN)

Felipe Pantone is an Argentinian-Spanish artist. He started doing graffiti at the age of 12. He graduated with a Fine Art degree in Valencia (Spain) where his studio is based. Pantone’s work deals with dynamism, transformation, digital revolution, and themes related to the present times.

ESAO ANDREWS (USA)

Esao Andrews is a Japanese/American artist and freelance illustrator. He received his B.F.A. in NYC from The School of Visual Arts in 2000 and with his haunted subject matter and often-times colorful palate has established a career both in the fine art and commercial world. He is best known for his Surreal album artwork for the band Circa Survive and has produced numerous comic book covers for Vertigo Comics and designs for Deathwish and Baker Skateboards early in his career.

EGLE ZVIRBLYTE (LITHUANIA)

Egle is a Lithuanian artist and illustrator based in London. She creates bright, punchy and irreverent work that has a strong presence but also is relatable and funny Alongside her commercial work, Egle has exhibited her art in New York, Miami, London, Tokyo, Melbourne, Madrid, Milan, Dublin, Zurich, Barcelona, Brussels and Utrecht.
In her personal practice Egle explores the themes of identity, transformation, human connection and female power.

YOK & SHERYO (AUS & SINGAPORE)

Originally from Australia and Singapore, and NY-based for 10 years with street art roots, the duo has exhibited and painted in various countries around the world. Yok & Sheryoʼs artwork is symbiotic with their life of travel and adventure. Their art exists in “Yahnahnesia,” a lush tropical island with made-up tales of mythology, deities, philosophies, religion, animals and landscapes.

CINTA VIDAL (SPAIN)

Cinta Vidal Agulló, is a Barcelona-based artist and illustrator, known for using paint with acrylic on wood panels to create gravity-defying perspectives of architectural structures.

KEITH HARING (USA)

Keith Allen Haring was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. His animated imagery has "become a widely recognized visual language"

LAURENCE VALLIERES (CANADA)

Laurence Vallières is a Canadian sculptor and artist. Vallières is best known for her sculptures made from upcycled materials. The subjects of her works, which are often larger-than-life sized, include cars, chimps, rhinoceri, elephants and bears.

CRANIO (BRAZIL)

Cranio is a self taught artist, who learned his craft from the streets of Sao Paolo - a city with a strong culture of graffiti. Cranio's work is a mix of street art and fine art, where he depicts his own life, everything he sees, hears, or lives through.
